PSY returns with start-studded “DADDY” ft. CL + “NAPAL BAJI” MVs for 7th album

After three years since his last album release which produced the worldwide hit “Gangnam Style,” PSY is finally back with his 7th studio album Chiljip PSY-Da, dropping the music videos for “DADDY” and “NAPAL BAJI.”

Published on December 1st at midnight KST, “DADDY” and “NAPAL BAJI” differ from one another but still retains a catchy rhythm that will have you put both tracks on repeat.

“DADDY” features 2NE1‘s CL, who also just recently dropped her own solo single “HELLO BI+CHES,” as well as other Korean celebrities including cameos from Yoo Hee Yeol and actress Ha Ji Won. The track was in actuality completed in March 2014, composed by Yoo Gun Hyung, Teddy, and Future Bounce.

On the other hand, “NAPAL BAJI” will take you back to the 70s-80s as he incorporates a popular dance from back then into this catch song. Many K-Pop fans may even recognize the dance in the popular T-ARA track “Roly Poly,” which also uses it into its choreography. This retro track is a song composed by PSY himself and Yoo Gun Hyung. According to the YG Entertainment artist, this is “the most PSY-like song.”

At a press conference held on November 30th at the Grand Ball Room of the Conrad Hotel in Seoul, PSY revealed, “‘DADDY’ was completed in March last year. Seven seasons have gone by and I’m not even Beethoven. I’ve made many changes and put in a lot of thought into it. But I made ‘NAPAL BAJI’ really quick after performing at a festival. I think it will be fun. One song was very difficult to make and the other wasn’t. People often say that it is the easy-made songs that do well, but we’ll have to see.”

Meanwhile, PSY will be taking up his first stage at the 2015 MAMA set to be held in Hong Kong on December 2nd.
