#5 auditioned too?!

We all know that the audition process to becoming an idol is a tedious process with many different steps, including elimination. While elimination may not sound like a good thing, in these 5 idols’ cases, elimination was the best thing that ever happened to them. Here are 5 idols that prove that sometimes, blessings do come in disguises.

1. Jungkook (BTS)

The golden maknae of global group BTS is first up on this list. Jungkook‘s journey to becoming a member of BTS is well known amongst all his fans as he first made an appearance on Mnet survival program Superstar K. It was there that viewers got to see a very young and a very shy Jungkook auditioning. He auditioned with IU‘s song “Mia” showcasing his impressive vocals for middle schooler.

While he may not have passed onto further rounds, he was contacted by numerous agencies, including Big Hit Entertainment after his appearance on the survival show. He went on to train with the label to become a member of one of the biggest idol groups in the history of South Korea.

2. Suzy (former Miss A)

Next up is the “Nation’s First Love”, Suzy. The former Miss A member auditioned when she was also in middle school and actually passed the preliminary audition. However, a recruiter from JYP Entertainment saw her at the Superstar K auditions and casted her right then and there. The actress eliminated herself from the show to train with the label.

It was only a little over a year later that Suzy debuted with girl group Miss A after being scouted at the Superstar K audition site. Several years later, she has become one of the biggest idol turned actresses in South Korea. She is well loved by everyone across the nation and even earned herself the coveted nickname, “Nation’s First Love”.

3. Mino (WINNER) and P.O (Block B)

Did you know that best friends, WINNER‘s Mino and Block B‘s P.O both auditioned on Superstar K together?! These two cuties auditioned for the survival program with each other and made headlines for their cute chemistry. The audition video of the two can still be found circulating online.

While these two may not be in the same group, they have both claimed their own rise to fame in their respective boy groups. Both of these boy group members have some insane rapping abilities so it’s no surprise that they were able to succeed and become two of the hottest rappers in the K-Pop industry today.

4. Seunghee (Oh My Girl)

This cutie from girl group Oh My Girl also auditioned on the famous singing show! Seunghee auditioned for the show back in 2010 and earned the nickname “little BoA” with her amazing vocals and dance abilities. She impressed all the viewers and even impressed Park Jin Young, the JYP Entertainment founder himself.

Seunghee was so impressive that she actually made it all the way to the top 11 before she was eliminated. While she was unable to take it all the way, it all worked out for her in the end as she debuted with Oh My Girl as the main vocal. Can you picture Oh My Girl without Seunghee? Neither can we.

5. Momo (TWICE)

This one may come as a bit of a surprise for some of you all but TWICE‘s main dancer, Momo was also a contestant on Superstar K! The TWICE member auditioned for Superstar K Japan back in 2011 with three of her friends. She showcased her dancing abilities which has always been her specialty.

While Momo was sad that she was eliminated on the show, the sadness didn’t last too long because she would end up becoming a member of one of the hottest girl groups Korea has seen in its history. We can’t envision TWICE without the dancing machine so thank goodness it didn’t work out for her on Superstar K!
