During an episode of Break The Silence, Suga confessed that while he’s appreciative of his current position, it did come with costs. He shared that one of the biggest costs of fame is no longer having privacy, as he can no longer do simple activities like going out to eat.
I’m really jealous of people who can go out to eat, travel, go to the movies with friends, and things like that. Those things are really special to me because I find them hard to do.
2. Jin on losing his friends
While Jin is known as the playful and friendly hyung of BTS, he’s had a hard time keeping friends due to his fame. During an episode of Break The Silence, Jin revealed that his friends find it difficult to be around him due to his fame.
There’s a lot of pressure to meet up with people. I haven’t changed, but my friends find it difficult to be around me.
It’s quite a shame to see them grow apart from me.
I’ve lost a lot of people around me.
3. Getting separated from their families
The BTS members became trainees at a relatively young age and had to get separated from their families due to it. When BTS guested on I-LAND, they shared that this was one of the most difficult things they’ve had to endure. Even now, the members rarely see their family members due to their busy schedules.
4. J-Hope on fearing the paparazzi
During an episode of Break The Silence, J-Hope was shocked when he saw a white van of paparazzi near him. Despite having been an idol for many years, these kinds of things still scare J-Hope, as he confessed, “Things like that sometimes scare me“.
J-Hope also confessed that being an idol is a tough job and that he sometimes wants to run away from it.
Of course, being an idol is…It makes you shine brightly, but it’s accompanied by fear
Sometimes I want to hide or avoid it. At times, I want to let it go.
5. V speaking on sasaeng fans
The BTS members have been quite vocal about their disliking of sasaeng fans, as these “fans” are always invading their privacy. V has shared in the past that sasaeng fans are constantly following the members, even when they go on flights.
I’m speaking for all of us. We now fly private jets but we’d actually love to fly with commercial airlines. But whenever we fly, whether short or long distance, there are people who found out where we sit in advance. They would sit in front of us or right next to us, and it made us a little uncomfortable. Well, honestly, I wish they wouldn’t do it. It scares me. Really.
