Think you’ve run out of things to watch while during social distancing? Think again. These 10 K-Dramas and international TV shows were recommended by K-Pop idols this year, so there’s bound to be at least one you haven’t seen yet. Take a look at this list and find something to cure your boredom.
1. Rosé (BLACKPINK)
In a recent interview, BLACKPINK’s Rosé recommended the Netflix show Atypical.
This series focuses on an 18-year-old young man on the autism spectrum whose life is set in motion by his decision to find a girlfriend.
2. Suho (EXO)
EXO’s Suho recently revealed he’s been watching more TV shows lately. His K-Drama of choice right now is tvN’s A Piece of Your Mind.
The drama is about an artificial intelligence creator who doesn’t believe he needs much love—until he meets a nomadic classical music recording engineer.
3. Joy (Red Velvet)
When talking with fans on Lysn, Red Velvet’s Joy told ReVeluvs she’s been watching tvN’s Hi Bye, Mama.
Recently attracting attention for casting a young boy in the role of a girl, the drama is about a recently deceased mother beginning a 49-day quest for reincarnation and the husband and child she left behind.
4. Mark (NCT)
On a live broadcast, NCT’s Mark told NCTzens he’s been watching JTBC’s Itaewon Class.
This drama is about a young man who opens up a pub in Seoul’s Itaewon district after being expelled from school and losing his father. BTS’s V recently released his first solo OST, “Sweet Night”, for Itaewon Class.
5. Doyoung (NCT)
While messaging with fans, NCT’s Doyoung recommended the tvN drama Signal.
This is actually an older drama (premiering in 2016), but it’s one of the most popular of all time. It centers on a police officer who begins solving cold cases after he gains the ability to contact a detective from the past.
6. Jaemin (NCT)
Rather than a K-Drama, the TV show NCT’s Jaemin is into right now is Money Heist on Netflix.
This Spanish series is about a unique group of thieves on a goal to execute the most perfect €2.4 billion EUR robbery Spain has ever seen.
7. Chaewon (IZ*ONE)
In an update for fans, IZ*ONE’s Chaewon told everyone she’s been watching a zombie K-Drama. While she didn’t reveal the name, everyone is pretty sure she’s referring to the Netflix show Kingdom.
Set in the Joseon period, this drama focuses on a Crown Prince who tries to solve his father’s mysterious death, only to find himself stuck in a village plagued by zombies.
8. Eunseo (Cosmic Girls)
Cosmic Girls’s Eunseo has been watching a couple of dramas lately, including KBS2’s Woman of 9.9 Billion.
This drama is about a woman who escaped an abusive father struggling to find happiness, until she comes across an ex-detective on a mission and ₩9.9 billion KRW ($9 million USD).
9. Luna (f(x))
The drama former f(x) member Luna is watching during her social isolation is JTBC’s The World of the Married.
This drama is about a doctor who seems to have everything, until she’s betrayed by her aspiring director husband.
10. Kim Minkyu
Jellyfish Entertainment’s Kim Minkyu, the highest-placing runner up on Produce X 101, told fans in an Instagram live broadcast that he’s watching SBS’s Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim 2.
This drama is about a famous surgeon who moves to a quiet countryside hospital with two troublesome staff members: a money-hungry male doctor, and a female doctor nauseated by surgery.
