Here’s A Deep Dive Into Comparing The Line Distributions Vs. Center Distributions Of 17 BTS Songs

Who has more singing time, and who has more of a dance focus?

We’ve made a couple of lists comparing the line distributions and center distributions for members of K-Pop groups in different songs. In those charts, the data was collected in the form of pie graphs to compare and contrast each.

BTS’s Jimin

Now, we’re taking a closer look at one group in particular — BTS — to see how each member’s lines compares to their center time for 17 of their main songs. Each of the graphs below shows the data for each in the form of double bar graphs, with the first bar representing the line percentage and the second bar representing center time. There’s also a little analysis for each member included with the graphs.

BTS’s J-Hope

Since the graphs cut off the song names, the 17 singles in order are: “Danger”, “I Need U”, “Dope”, “Blood Sweat & Tears”, “Spring Day”, “Not Today”, “DNA”, “Fake Love”, “Airplane Pt. 2”, “Anpanman”, “Idol”, “Mic Drop”, “Boy With Luv”, “Dionysus”, “Black Swan”, “ON”, and “Dynamite”.

Jin

Overall, Jin tends to have more center time than vocal time (10 songs with more center time compared to 7 songs with more vocal time). This is pretty interesting, since his position in the group is a vocalist and visual. His song with the most lines is “Boy With Love” with 19.6% of the total, and his song with the most center time is “Fake Love” with 20.5% of the total.

Suga

Overall, Suga has just slightly more songs with more lines than center time (9 songs with more lines compared to 7 songs with more center time, and one that’s completely even). This is split nearly half and half, and as the lead rapper of the group, this might be a surprise! His song with the most lines is “Black Swan” 16.1% of the total, and his song with the most center time is “Mic Drop” with 13.4% of the total.

J-Hope

In general, J-Hope has more songs with more center time than lines (10 songs with more center time compared to 7 songs with more lines). He’s considered a vocalist and rapper of the group, as well as the main dancer, so this makes sense! His song with the most lines is “Spring Day” with 26.6% of the total, and his song with the most center time is “Mic Drop” with 28.2% of the total.

RM

Over all of these songs, RM has more songs with more lines than center time (11 songs with more lines compared to 6 songs with more center time). As the main rapper of the group without any dance positions, this is definitely pretty expected! His song with the most lines is “Not Today” with 24.6% of the total, and his song with the most center time is also “Not Today” with 24.4% of the total.

Jimin

Overall, Jimin has slightly more songs with more lines than center time (9 songs with more lines compared to 7 with more center time, and one song with an equal amount). Jimin is both a main dancer and a lead vocalist of BTS, so it makes sense that these would be pretty even for him! His song with the most lines is “Danger” with 30.9% of the total, and his song with the most center time is also “Danger” with 28.6% of the total.”

V

Throughout all of these songs, V has more songs with more center time than lines by quite a large margin (13 songs with more center time compared to 4 songs with more lines). He is considered a lead dancer and vocalist (along with a visual) for the group now, so it is nice that he is able to show off his dancing skills! His song with the most lines is “Danger” with 18.7% of the total, and his song with the most center time is also “Danger” with 25% of the total.

Jungkook

And finally, over this entire list of songs, Jungkook has more songs with more lines than more center time (10 songs with more lines compared to 7 with more center time). He has several positions in the group, including main vocalist, lead dancer, center, and sub-rapper, so it isn’t too surprising that his parts are split fairly evenly. His song with the most lines is “Dynamite” with 36.6% of the total, and his song with the most center time is “Dope” with 34.4% of the total.
