K-Pop’s ‘98-Line Squad Is Full Of Iconic Friendships — Here Are The Members We Know About So Far

Many of them hung out together at the “2022 ISAC.”

You’ve heard of the ’97-line squad, which consists of icons such as BTS‘s Jungkook, GOT7‘s BamBam and Yugyeom, ASTRO‘s Cha Eunwoo, NCT‘s Jaehyun,  and SEVENTEEN‘s Mingyu. But fans have been suspecting NCT’s Jungwoo of ‘collecting’ ’98-liner friends for some time. And interestingly enough, it seems like many of them are friends with each other too!

Here are some of the ’98-line idols who reportedly hang out together and form K-Pop’s ’98-liner squad!

1. NCT’s Jungwoo

Jungwoo may be technically an introvert, but that doesn’t stop him from being at the heart of K-Pop’s ’98-line squad.  In the past, he’s shown off his close friendship with Stray Kids‘s Lee Know and SEVENTEEN‘s Seungkwan

…and most recently he was seen hanging out with bestie THE BOYZ‘s Juyeon at 2022 ISAC.

2. Stray Kids’ Lee Know

Lee Know became friends with Jungwoo through their job as MCs on Music Core.

He’s also known to be friends with Seungkwan, Juyeon, and ATEEZ‘s Seonghwa. He and Juyeon collaborated together on a stage performance of SuperM‘s “Tiger Inside” along with several other ’98-liners, including ASTRO‘s Moonbin, PENTAGON‘s Kino, WOODZ, and others.

3. THE BOYZ’s Juyeon

Juyeon has proven he’s close with Jungwoo on a couple of different occasions, including earlier this year when he stepped in as a guest MC for their mutual friend Lee Know.

Juyeon was also seen hanging out with both of them at 2022 ISAC.

4. SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan

Out of the ’98-liners, Seungkwan is known to be besties with Jungwoo, Lee Know, and Juyeon, and is in fact friends with members from all three of their groups as well.

As a matter of fact, when Jungwoo and Lee Know were getting to know each other, they bonded over their mutual friendship with Seungkwan!

5. ATEEZ’s Seonghwa

Following ATEEZ’s appearance on Kingdom: Legendary War, Seonghwa revealed that two of the idols he’d become friends with were Lee Know and Juyeon. This took Hongjoong (who is also a ’98-liner) by surprise, and he became amusingly jealous of how close Seonghwa now is with his new besties.

Honorable mention: ATEEZ’s Hongjoong

While Hongjoong did not seem to have socialized with his fellow ’98-liners in Kingdom: Legendary War as much as Seonghwa did, he was seen hanging out and chatting with NCT’s Jungwoo at this year’s ISAC, so perhaps he may also be joining the ’98-line squad!
