Lee Byung Hun to grace the stage of the Academy Awards as award presenter

It was reported earlier that actor Lee Byung Hun, who is successfully making a name for himself in Hollywood, will be attending the upcoming 88th Academy Awardsbecoming the first Korean to be invited.

Further reports reveal that not only will he be gracing the red carpet along with other hot Hollywood stars but will be taking the stage itself to present an award.

While BH Entertainment confirmed that Lee Byung Hun would indeed be attending the Academy Awards, they revealed while he was attending as an award presenter, the award he was giving out was not confirmed yet.

It is also worthy to note that in addition to Lee Byung Hun, Korean soprano singer Jo Su Mi is also the first Korean to be nominated in the Academy Awards for an Oscar. Her song “Simple Song #3” from the film Youth was nominated for Best Original Song.

His presence in Hollywood is undoubtedly rising since debuting in the industry in 2009 with his role in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra as Storm Shadow. He has since return to that role in the sequel, G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Other Hollywood films he’s participated in include Red 2 and Terminator Genysis with films Misconduct and The Magnificent Seven to be released sometimes in 2016.

The Academy Awards will be held on February 28th.
