Actress Song Hye Kyo’s Malicious Commenters Forwarded To Prosecution

They are being charged with writing malicious comments and defamation of character.

Two netizens who wrote malicious comments about actress Song Hye Kyo have been forwarded to the prosecution for allegedly violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.

The Bundang Police station stated on October 15 that Netizens A and B will be prosecuted for defamation of character and writing malicious comments, respectively. Netizen A is being charged with defamation of character for writing a blog post in June claiming that the reason for the actress’ divorce with Song Joong Ki was because she had a “sponsor” in China. Netizen B is being charged with writing malicious comments for having personally attacked the actress online in the past.

In related news, Song Hye Kyo’s agency filed a lawsuit against 15 netizens in July, but only 2 were identified as the rest had deactivated their accounts.
