BLACKPINK’s Lisa Describes The Difference Between Her “LALISA” Concept And BLACKPINK’s Style

Here’s what she noted down.

BLACKPINK‘s Lisa made her long-awaited solo debut with her album LALISA and the title track of the same name. In an interview with OUTNOW Unlimited, she talked about this and more, with one question being, “What’s the concept you wanted to try out in this single album?”

Lisa compared her solo debut with her previous work as a member of BLACKPINK. She was able to show many styles to the public within the last five years.

Firstly, while in BLACKPINK, I tried out different concepts.

Since their debut in 2016, BLACKPINK has done several different concepts. From the hard-hitting “How You Like That…”

…to the emotional “STAY” and “Lovesick Girls”…

…and to the cute “Don’t Know What To Do,” they proved they can rock any genre!

Lisa’s LALISA album, however, was focused on being “fierce.” Both “LALISA” and “MONEY” are hip hop tracks that are perfect to dance to.

Now this time the album is just for myself. So matching with the song, [it’s] a fierce concept, like a strong female rapper.

Not only is LALISA unique among BLACKPINK’s tracklist, but also the solo songs of her fellow members. Jennie‘s “SOLO” was a pop song with EDM elements, showing off her elegant beauty.

Rosé‘s “On The Ground,” meanwhile, was an electropop song with synth elements. She paid close attention when writing the lyrics as they reflected her life’s journey and rise to fame.

And finally, “LALISA” was a confident song that emphasized her rapping and dancing abilities. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out below!
