BLACKPINK Sets New Record On Billboard Charts With “Kill This Love”

They’ve set new records.

BLACKPINK have just made K-Pop history with their ranking on Billboard‘s various charts, including the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200.

“Kill This Love” entered the chart at No.41, making it the highest ever ranking for a girl group song. They broke their own previous record of No. 55 for “DDU-DU DDU-DU”. It received more than 18.6 million streams in the United States and 7,000 downloads, good for No. 22 on the Streaming Songs chart and No. 39 on the Digital Song Sales chart.

Their album KILL THIS LOVE also broke the record for highest placement by a girl group on the Billboard 200, ranking No. 24 with 19,000 equivalent album units. The previous record was still held by BLACKPINK, which ranked No. 40 with their previous mini album SQUARE UP.

Finally, “Kill This Love” took the No. 1 position on the World Digital Song Sales Chart, making it the 5th time the group has taken the Number 1 spot on that chart. BLACKPINK’s hit tracks “Boombayah”, “Playing With Fire”, “As If It’s Your Last”, and “DDU-DU DDU-DU” all took the No. 1 spot in the past.

Congratulations to BLACKPINK!
