BTS Makes Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2018 List, Kris Wu Was One Of The Judges

BTS is the only K-Pop group to make the list.

BTS has been named on Forbes‘s “30 Under 30 Asia 2018 List”, which chooses “young stars, innovators, and visionary entrepreneurs” who are “reshaping their industries and changing Asia for the better”.

The boys are all under 26 years old.

BTS made the Forbes list because the group’s music “has taken over the world in recent years, and 2017 was the year they finally cracked the notoriously competitive US market.”

Other South Koreans under 30 in the list include 13-year-old figure skater You Young and 23-year-old “Iron Man” skeleton racing athlete and Pyeongchang gold medal winner Sung Bin Young.

BTS sent a statement to Forbes saying they were “honored” to be on the list.

We have seen the list in newspapers in the past. Being a part of it is [a] great honor. We think so many people have helped us come this far. We just hope that, with #BTS, many people in the world will feel consolation and healing.” — BTS

The list features 300 entries – 30 in 10 categories – whom were picked from more than 2,000 nominations with the help of an A-list judging panel. For the entertainment and sports category, this included former EXO member Kris Wu.

Kris Wu has been active in the entertainment industry in China and Canada since leaving EXO and EXO-M in 2014.

With BTS outdoing US president Donald Trump in 2017 to win the Guinness record for Twitter engagements, earning 252,200 retweets per tweet on average, the group’s popularity and influence is continuing in 2018 with new followers everyday!
