Jimin didn’t know what to make of his present.

When it comes to celebrating Jimin‘s birthdays, Jin is, well…unique!

Let’s start with Jin’s birthday greetings, shall we? This year, he took “broke millionaire” to a new level by giving Jimin a card made out of scrap cardboard.

During Jimin’s birthday broadcast, Jimin and Jungkook talked about presentsJ-Hope, who later dropped by the broadcast, is an “angel” of gift-giving. He goes out of his way to celebrate BTS‘s special days.

“But you know, Jin gave me a gift as well,” Jimin said. “Mushrooms. A box full of them.”

That wasn’t the kind of gift Jimin was expecting. “Out of nowhere,” he said, laughing. “They were huge.”

This might seem like an odd choice, but like BTS’s “fungi” Jin, Matsutake mushrooms are luxurious and rare. They sell for around $1,000 USD per pound (0.5 kg)!

Jimin once revealed that he didn’t acquire a taste for mushrooms until he tried one of Jin’s dishes. “I didn’t eat mushrooms before…” Jimin said. “The food you made with mushrooms was really delicious.”
