On December 4, BTS‘s Jin celebrated his birthday by gifting ARMYs something they never expected… a song called “Super Tuna.” Filmed at Dockweiler Beach in Playa Del Rey, California, it became an unexpected hit and unsurprisingly went viral for its adorable lyrics, catchy dance, and of course, Worldwide Handsome Jin.
Yet, with the sudden rise in popularity, it seemed as if Jin didn’t expect or really want the trot-esque song to become such a hit. It was even made into a TikTok dance challenge, and Jin even went on Weverse to ask fans to stop trending the song, saying that he’s embarrassed.
No, but please don’t do a “Super Tuna” challenge that I did not plan. No, I’m so embarrassed…
However, it seems as if Jin might not be as embarrassed by the trend as he made out. After their first appearance after the pandemic back in November, BTS made another appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
During the show, the group sang their hit track “Butter,” and once again, BTS showcased why they are true kings when it comes to performing. With a more disco feel than their other tracks, they had the audience and fans watching at home dancing along.
In particular, during one of the parts, the members all had a chance to prove just how good they were at freestyle dancing. While all the members were showcasing their cool moves, fans noticed something about Jin’s moves… it was the “Super Tuna” dance.
Even though the performance was filmed before the “Super Tuna” track was released, the cameo showcased that maybe Jin knew how popular it would be.
As expected, ARMYs didn’t let this reference go unnoticed. They quickly took to Twitter to share their love for Jin’s moves and that, despite his embarrassment, BTS’s oldest member loves the dance as much as fans.

The “Super Tuna” cameo comes as the track continues to spread its dominance. After the performance, the phrase “Sorry Jin” started trending as ARMYs shared just how popular the song was becoming, including making an appearance on the daily Billboard #HotTrendingSongs.

Jin also stated that he was worried that the song’s popularity would mean that HYBE would make him write a second verse for the track… well, ARMYs would definitely complain, and maybe, despite his reservations, Jin wouldn’t mind one either!

With Jin proving that everything he does turns to gold, maybe “Super Tuna” could grow more, achieving music show wins, becoming popular worldwide… and even appearing on the group’s next album.
