BTS Lands Third Straight No. 1 Album On Billboard 200 Chart

BTS does it again.

BTS has just received their third straight number 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with their latest album Map of the Soul: Persona.

The album sold an equivalent of 230,000 units between April 12-19, enough to take the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. 196,000 of these sales were physical albums, setting another personal record for best sales in the United States.

The remaining sales consisted of 8000 track equivalent albums, which are also known as digital downloads. 26,000 of the album sales were streaming equivalent albums, which means the album’s songs were streamed 37,400,000 times during the week.

BTS has become the first group to land three number 1 albums on Billboard since the Beatles in 1995-96, proving their power in not only Korea, but the United States too. They have collected number 1 albums faster than any other group since 1967, and Persona is the 4th biggest selling debut week of 2019, only being beaten out by Ariana Grande‘s Thank U, Billie Eilish‘s When We All Fall Asleep, and Backstreet BoysDNA.

Congratulations BTS on another record!
