BTS’s Suga Gives His thoughts About Second Grammy Nomination

He is ready to take on the challenge.

On November 28 local time, K-Pop idol group BTS held a global conference ahead of the BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE- LA concert at the SoFi Stadium in L.A. The members shared their thoughts about holding an offline concert as well as answered various questions.

Recently, BTS was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the Grammy Awards with their song, “Butter”. When asked how he they felt about being nominated for two consecutive years, they expressed it both as an “honor”, but also as “a barrier to overcome”.

Q. How do you feel about your second Grammys nomination?

I grew up watching the Grammys from a young age, so I am still overwhelmed and excited about being nominated for two years in a row. I hope I can overcome the barriers and be grateful that I can take on this challenge.

— Suga

Jin added, “It’s not that we aren’t happy with other awards, it’s just that the Grammys is something we haven’t received yet.” To this, Suga commented, “There’s a Korean saying that ‘any tree can fall with 10 strokes of an ax.’ If we hit it twice, we can hit it eight more times”.

On the other hand, BTS will perform on November 28, December 1, and December 2 for their BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE- LA concert tour before returning to Korea.
