RM shared the nickname, the “Lost Generation,” given to the generation in their youth during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During this point in time where it’s crucial to experience diverse experiences, they have been stripped of the opportunities necessary.

However, RM stated that calling them “lost” is an oversight. Their paths may be nontraditional in the eyes of previous generations, but they are adapting and learning in different ways than ever before.

I think it’s a stretch to say they’re ‘lost’ just because the paths they tread can’t be seen by adult eyes.

BTS shared photos and stories from ARMYs who sent in their stories online of how they live today with the hashtags #YouthToday and #YourStories.

Jimin shared that the stories of hope, growth, and learning prove this generation of youth is capable of adapting and finding courage in times of change.

They don’t look lost, they look like they’re finding new courage.

— Jimin

The term “Lost Generation” is from a narrow perspective. Instead, Jin suggested a new name that encapsulates the adaptability and tenacity of the youth.

Instead of the ‘Lost Generation’ a more appropriate name would be the ‘Welcome Generation’ because instead of fearing change this generation says ‘Welcome’ and keeps forging ahead.

— Jin

As part of the “Welcome Generation,” young people today will continue to embrace new challenges and opportunities that come their way.
