Dalcomsoft To Launch New “SuperStar” Game For Western Artists

It will be the eight iteration of the game.

Dalcomsoft, the creator of the K-Pop SuperStar rhythm games, is ready to launch one for Western artists.

The goal of the SuperStar games is to tap along to the beat of various songs and earn rewards for them. There are three levels for each song: Easy, Normal and Hard. The game also has a card-collecting feature (akin to virtual photocards) and cards can be bought with points earned by either playing songs or making in-app purchases.

There are currently seven available versions of SuperStar: JYPNation, FNC, YG, STARSHIP, SMTOWN, Woolim and GFRIEND. Each game is named either after an entertainment company and encompasses various groups signed to it, or a specific group by itself. GFRIEND is currently the only group with a solo game, as SuperStar BTS was shut down in June 2020.

The newest iteration of the game, The SuperStar, will be the first version to cater to Western artists. According to its official website, the artists featured will include Billie Eilish, Ellie Goulding, Imagine Dragons, Lady Gaga, Selena GomezRae Sremmurd and Zedd. Players can pre-register for the game to earn rewards once it launches.

The announcement was met with mixed reactions: some fans are interested to see what the game is going to look like for Western artists, especially the collectible cards, while others are upset that their favourite groups still don’t have a SuperStar game.

The SuperStar is available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for pre-registration and will be launched in April.
