In an event that fans were waiting for, Hong Du Sik (Kim Seon Ho) and Yoon Hye Jin (Shin Min Ah) got engaged. Just like when they started dating, it was the latter who took the lead. She was the first to propose and her words were as sweet as she is!

I’d love it if our shoes were always side by side at the door together so that neither would be lonely. Chief Hong, will you marry me?

— Hye Jin

Shoes are a meaningful part of their relationship. In Episode 1, Du Sik approached her for the first time as adults after she lost one of her shoes in the beach. Later on, he found the other pair and fixed both of them for her.

Du Sik, after an initial moment of surprise for being slower in proposing, told her the words straight from his heart.

You said our first encounter was in the worst terms, not for me though. I saw a woman on the beach that day. She sat there for a long time, but all I could see was sadness in her eyes. And I couldn’t get it out of my mind. My eyes kept being drawn by her. But I never thought that I’d fall in love with her.

— Du Sik

The latter part of his proposal was especially memorable, with Du Sik listing down the simple things he hopes they will share in the future.

Two pairs of shoes by the door, two toothbrushes in the bathroom, and two aprons in the kitchen. everything will be in pairs. In a house where we keep those, will you enjoy today, tomorrow, and all of your time with me?

— Du Sik

Of course, they said yes to forever with each other, and they even had the cutest prenuptial photoshoot!
