INFINITE’s Sunggyu Recovers From COVID-19 And Performs In Musical “Gwanghwamun Sonata”

He has recovered and is doing well.

On July 16, the second day of the musical Gwanghwamun Sonata opened at the Seoul Arts Center Opera Theater. Before the premiere, actress Cha Ji Yeon and INFINITE’s Sunggyu both tested positive with COVID-19, causing the press conference to be canceled. However, they were able to hold the actual performance smoothly.

Gwanghwamun Sonata is a jukebox musical based on composer Lee Young Hoon’s hit songs. In particular, the role of Wolha attracted much attention as it brought a bit of laughter to a story that was otherwise quite banal. For this season, Kim Sunggyu, Cha Ji Yeon, and Kim Ho Young take on this “gender-free” role.

Kim Sunggyu, who played the role of young Myungoo at the premiere in 2017, captured the eyes and ears of the audience this time with his witty and pleasant acting and singing ability through his role of Wolha.

The show will run until September 5.
