ITZY’s Ryujin Reveals Whether ITZY Will Release Solos & Personal Projects

Every ITZY member has incredible solo talents, but when will they show them off individually?

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, ITZY‘s Ryujin discussed the group’s view on solo projects—including when fans can expect the members to try out individual activities.

For fans, one of the best things about ITZY is how well the members complete each other on stage. However, that doesn’t mean their unique talents couldn’t stand just as well alone. Main vocalist Lia, for example, would make a great OST singer, while Ryujin would likely make a great actress after her role in the 2017 movie The King.

But when can MIDZYs expect the ITZY members to start trying out solo songs and personal projects? That’s what Entertainment Tonight wanted to know in a new interview to celebrate the release of “In the morning” (also known as “Mafia In the morning”).

Obviously, you guys have this new record together, but are there any plans to do any individual songs or personal projects in the future?

Ryujin started by clarifying that in the future, she definitely thinks the members could try out solo songs and individual projects. However, the ITZY center revealed that they don’t have plans to do so right now—and for good reason.

Ryujin went on to say, “We think we have so many things left to show as a team.” While ITZY may have become one of the fourth generation’s most successful groups already, it’s definitely true that they’re just starting out. Since their debut in 2019, they’ve only released four mini albums and six singles, including their special non-album single for fans, “Trust Me (MIDZY).” To date, the group is still yet to release a full studio album, and due to the pandemic, they haven’t been able to hold a concert tour either.

As such, it’s not too surprising that Ryujin says the group isn’t thinking much about solos right now. However, that doesn’t mean they’re not on the cards. While Ryujin explained that the ITZY members want to show off their group efforts as much as they can, she also states that once they’ve done more as a group, “Then the [solo] planning will begin, I think.”
