“PARASITE” Makes Another History With 6 Oscar Nominations For The 2020 Academy Awards

Will it become the first Korean movie to win an Oscar?

“PARASITE”, a Korean thriller movie created by director Bong Joon Ho, is on its way to make more historical feats for the Korean movie industry.

After becoming the first Korean film to win “Best Foreign Language Film” at the 2020 Golden Globes, it’s now been nominated for 6 different categories at the 2020 Academy Awards, best known as the Oscars.

The film was nominated for “Best Picture”, “Directing”, “Film Editing”, International Feature Film”, “Production Design”, and “Original Screenplay”.

Although many Korean films had received Oscar nominations in the past, none has yet to win an award. The first Korean movie to receive an Oscar nomination was “Mother And A Guest” from 1963.

Many are anticipating “PARASITE” may become the first Korean movie to win its first Oscar.

The 2020 Academy Awards will take place in Hollywood on February 6 at 6:30pm PST.
