Police Issue Travel Ban For Yang Hyun Suk Due To Gambling Scandal

He can no longer leave the country.

Former head of YG Entertainment Yang Hyun Suk has been banned from leaving Korea as his suspicions of habitual gambling are currently being investigated by the police.

According to authorities, the intelligence crime investigation team of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has put in effect a travel ban for Yang Hyun Suk, fearing that he may flee once he gets booked and investigated on charges of habitual gambling.

Seungri, who is also being investigated for habitual gambling, has already been banned from leaving the country since March 2019, when the Burning Sun scandal became nationwide news.

Police expect to begin full scale investigations into Yang Hyun Suk and Seungri’s gambling case as early as the end of the month, the two are expected to be summoned for investigations.

Earlier in the month, police booked Seungri and Yang Hyun Suk on charges of habitual gambling. They discovered evidence showing billions of won being illegally gambled by both Yang Hyun Suk and Seungri, using illegal foreign exchange methods known as “hwanchigi”, or borrowing money overseas, and repaying in Korea. Police also conducted a search and seizure of YG Entertainment in an attempt to discover new evidence.
