Sung Hoon And Im Soo Hyang To Reunite As Leads In Korean Remake Of “Jane the Virgin” – 10 Years After Their Debut “New Tales of Gisaeng”

They will reunite as leads after 10 years.

Actors Sung Hoon and Im Soo Hyang will reunite as leads of a drama, 10 years after they debuted together in New Tales of Gisaeng, this time in Jane the Virgin.

According to an exclusive report from JTBC, Sung Hoon and Im Soo Hyang were cast as the main lead roles in upcoming K-Drama Jane the Virgin. The drama is a remake of the Venezuelan and American series, and tells the story of a woman who is mistakenly artificially inseminated with the child of a rich family during a routine checkup.

Sung Hoon would play the role of Kim Bok Rae, head of a plastic surgery clinic. He also goes by the name Rafael, and is lauded as an “actress killer” and scandal genius. He came to his senses after battling cancer, and ends up asking his wife for a divorce for the sake of her happiness.

Im Soo Hyang would play the role of Bae Ji Eun, an assistant writer for a daily drama. She is the daughter of a single mother and her grandmother told her that she needs to remain a virgin until she is married. She is also in a relationship with a man who understands her values.

Sung Hoon and Im Soo Hyang both debuted with lead roles in SBS K-Drama New Tales of Gisaeng. Filming for Jane the Virgin will begin in September and the broadcast timing and station is currently under discussion.
