Park Myung Soo Issues Public Apology After Accidental Copyright Infringement

DJ G-Park, more commonly known as Infinite Challenge’s Park Myung Soo, was recently accused of copyright infringement.

On January 14, DJ G-Park played  Jewelz & Sparks’s new song, “Grande Opera” at Club Octagon in Seoul, without having acquired the rights to play it.

There were speculations that Park Myung Soo had extracted the song from an internet Podcast titled Hardwell On Air,  after worldwide famous producer Hardwell tweeted the video of the incident.

The artists of the song, Jewelz & Sparks, also uploaded the video on their official Facebook page with the text, “Hahaha ..make sure this doesn’t happen to you

” along with a link to purchase the song legally.

Park Myung Soo ended up admitting his mistake on Instagram on January 17:

“It is true I chose the wrong song. At a huge club like Club Octagon, we do not use illegally downloaded files due to their low quality; we tend to use aiff files instead. I made a mistake as I chose it in a flash. I will be more careful in choosing songs in the future. Hardwell and the original authors are people whom I truly like. I will compensate with a better set.”
