TXT And ENHYPEN Open Up About Their Fear Of Being Compared And How They Overcame It

They collaborated for the 2021 KBS Song Festival.

At the 2021 KBS Song Festival, labelmates TXT and ENHYPEN performed the most legendary K-Pop songs to ever be released, including BIGBANG‘s “Bang Bang Bang,” H.O.T.’s Candy,” and BTS‘s “Fire.”

In a recent backstage video, the two groups opened up about their fear of being compared to each other.

  • I thought if we did a collaboration, we’d end up being compared and made to compete with each other. — TXT’s Soobin
  • Of course we do feel some pressure. They have a lot more stage experience than us. I know that’s going to show no matter what. — ENHYPEN’s Heeseung and Jake

After practicing together, however, their fears were put to rest. Sunghoon explained that the TXT members were very considerate towards them and that they all did their best, so there was no need to worry.

It was fun. I worried, ‘What if we get compared?‘ But they were so considerate to us, and we also did our best. I didn’t need to worry at all.

Soobin came to a realization after their performance. “Rather than competing, I think the two teams became one and performed as one,” he observed.

Finally, Jungwon was most proud of how the two groups were able to showcase the power of HYBE‘s artists. He even jokingly made a new group name—HB!

Each team showed their own colors, but I think we really showed what HYBE is made of. I’m really happy with what we did. I just said it as a joke—”HB”— HYBE BOYS.

Apart from discussing their fear of being compared, TXT and ENHYPEN also revealed what their biggest challenge during dance practice was. Check it out here:
